About Me
Kikundi cha Ngoma – Elimisha Sanaa Group is a performing arts group based in Ilala, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The group specializes in performing and playing traditional dances and drumming from Tanzania, as well as selected traditional dance forms from other parts of Africa and beyond.
With extensive experience in performing arts, the group is well known for its energy, creativity, discipline and powerful stage presence. Kikundi cha Ngoma – Elimisha Sanaa Group aims to make arts a sustainable source of livelihood for artists while contributing to the efforts of the Government and the wider community to preserve, protect, promote and pass on Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage to future generations.
In addition to traditional dance and music, the group also engages in theatre performances and has presented its work on various platforms, including TASUBA Bagamoyo, Haba na Haba International Dance Festival, as well as at different community and government events.
